BeetElite and 15s Rugby

The 15-a-side game is all about endurance. Yes, strength and stamina are important. But ultimately, you want to be able to perform at or near your peak for a full 80 minute rugby game. That’s the dream. We’ve been using BeetElite since the summer of 2015. Since then, we’ve done numerous tests on the timing of your intake as well as the prolonged effects. To sum up all that research, we suggest you take BeetElite at least 20minutes before your rugby training or rugby game starts.

We brought this time down to ten minutes but then realized that your body probably needs longer than this to get your circulation really going. Interestingly, the more cardio fitness our testing group had, the sooner they felt the benefits. So if you’re a beep test stud you can probably cut down your time before taking BeetElite a little bit.

BeetElite and 7s Rugby

Now we’re talking! BeetElite is without a doubt the best nutritional supplement we’ve found for 7s players. Especially amateur 7s players. During the course of a full day or even two day 7s tournament, you’re going to have fluctuating levels of energy linked to your caloric intake. It’s impossible to not eat during a tournament. But to stay in top shape all day, you should probably stay away from complex proteins, grains and most importantly caffeine. Coffees and energy drinks are a real killer on 7s day.

Yes, using a pre-workout supplement will get you up for your first and second games, but by 3pm with the finals looming, you’re going to crash and need to sleep. Caffeine-free nitrate supplementation is the answer. We recommend taking just a half a scoop of BeetElite about 20-30 minutes before each of your 7s games during the tournament.     I notice an instant increase in stamina when using this product. It doesn’t give you jitters or an upset stomach like a lot of pre workout supplements. It’s a perfect pre-match supplement as it allows you to maintain your power and muscle endurance more than you would otherwise. Also notice a good pump when taking this product before a gym session.

    “I have recently started using the Beet Elite. I am a person who wants to take pre-workout, but many pre-workouts I have tried do not sit well with me. The Beet Elite tastes awesome, does not give you the jitters, and does not burn out. When using the product, I experience an increase in my cardio, endurance, and stamina. Just getting off a track workout, my muscle power was not worn out. I am excited to use the Beet Elite for a 7’s tournament and will continue to support Ruck Science.     I’ve been seriously struggling to get my 5k row under 20:00 for about 3 months now. Hadn’t broken 21:00! Today I decided to pull out the big guns, so I put down an 80 Brain about an hour before my workout, and two scoops of Beet Elite 15 minutes beforehand. Threw on the headphones and the hat (essential for rowing, IMHO), and banged out a 19:59! May or may not have scared the whole gym, but I got there! Thanks Ruck Science

    I was skeptical at first, but the stuff really works well. Ive taken it before gym sessions and games, and I had plenty of energy to stay 100% through both. The only problem is the taste. Mixing it will a little gatorate fixes that problem easily.

    This stuff tastes way better than I thought it would and I have actually noticed more energy throughout the day. Since I have been taking this I have noticed I haven’t felt the need for as many coffee breaks during the workday and I am more motivated to hit the gym after work. Highly recommended! I also love how the company donates money to my rugby club. If you are going to buy supplements anyway you might as well support your club while doing it.

    I have used this product prior to Ruck Science carrying it. I use it pre-workout, but it definitely has pretty obvious circulatory and sexual benefits, as well. As it pertains to rugby, though, I feel an increase in my cardio and conditioning when using Beet Elite, but not with that same jittery feeling that other pre-workouts give you. The benefits of beets and beet juice are extensive and proven by science, so I think of this particular product as a ‘must have’ for rugby players. Will purchase this from Ruck Science from now on to support my home club. Cheers

    I received this as part of the sampler stacker, and absolutely loved this! I have a caffeine sensitivity, so using any kind of pre-workout can have disastrous outcomes. But with this product, I felt energized and ready to tackle training. With pre-workout, I would feel the crash, and feel it pretty hard; I didn’t crash using beetelite. If anything, I felt pretty good for the remainder of my day. Both flavors are fine, and the powder dissolves easily, but I think I prefer the original flavor over cherry.

    “I was incredibly skeptical about trying this – it’s made of beets, a veggie I avoid at Thanksgiving (and all other times too). I’ve mostly used this at 7s tournaments towards game 3 or 4, but have not tried at practices.
    Taste: The cherry helps, but I don’t mind the taste. Not sweet, but doesn’t taste like health food nut material. I prefer to slam it rather than sip. Dissolves very easily and quickly, even without a shaker.
    Effect on energy: I’m going to preface with the statement that I work, a LOT, with most of it on my feet. This includes the nights before tournaments until 2 or 3 AM, so I show up already a little exhausted. BeetElite takes the edge off that deep-set fatigue and lets me power through that little more.
    Misc: It will be bright red. Your teammates will ask what on earth it is, smell it, and make faces at you. It can also be a little stain-y, so I tend to use whatever disposable vessel is around rather than my shaker.
    Overall, I would say this does what it’s made to do, but isn’t a wonder drug. I wish it had a little more kick to it and lasted for longer, but maybe taking more than a single scoop is in order. I prefer this to preworkout however – no jitters or I’m-too-amped feeling.”

    This product definitely helps with my endurance during games. Don’t get me wrong you’re still going to get tired during games but if you go back and watch film you’ll notice that you were able to give that extra bit of effort before you reach the point of exhaustion. Which can be all the difference in a game. Only problem is it only comes with 10 packets so I only break them out for game time.

    I use it as a pre workout supplement prior to practice. Does not give me jitters (I save that for gameday). Taste is not bad considering its made with beets. The effectiveness of the product outweighs the mild beet taste
