Why rugby players need a pre-workout

Simply put, rugby is a tough game that demands your 100% attention. Being lackadaisical and unfocused is the fastest way to get yourself injured. To perform at your peak, extend your cardio range and avoid injuries, you need to be mentally sharp and attentive throughout training and games.

So how do you do that?

As amateur players, we have many other concerns in our lives that can be distracting during training. You’ve had a tough week, you’re thinking about work stuff and you just can’t get focused. PRE-WORKOUT PROTOCOLS

If you’re not familiar with pre-workouts supplements, we highly recommend reading this section before using Twitch Faster. For amateur rugby players in particular, we suggest the following protocol:

Before Rugby Training

Our pre-workout formula is best taken with 500ml of water in a shaker about 15mins before rugby training. While some people can shoot it straight, without fluids at all, we don’t recommend this. You’ll need your fluid levels high for rugby training. 500ml is more than most shakers hold. That’s intentional. We want you to take on a tonne of fluids with your pre-workout.

Improving your skill set is a critical component of becoming a better rugby player. Unfortunately, its hard to do this if you’re all hyped up on sugar and caffeine. For rugby training, we suggest taking a half scoop of pre-workout only. Especially if your session is in the evening.

Before Rugby Games

This is where you can step-up your intake a bit. Rugby training doesn’t really proceed at 100% of your max energy output. But during games, you need all that and more. The ideal protocol is to have 1 heaped scoop about 10mins before kick-off time. This gives you enough to last the 80mins comfortably without giving you the jitters before you step on the pitch. You should also consider some sugar at half time.

Before Hitting the Gym

Again, thinking about injury prevention for a second, taking too much pre-workout isn’t what you’re looking for. To maximize your strength output in the weight room, our rugby pre-workout is going to help you for sure. But don’t go crazy. During daytime gym sessions use a full scoop OR at night use a half scoop. Nobody likes the dude in the corner screaming as he does his ORM dead lift.

    Pre-Workout – Wow, its a great kick much more caffeine than i imagined. Its a great rush, and a perfect consistency from 16oz to 32 oz depending on the shot I want. One thing I am not a huge fan of, is the crash afterwards. Its about 30 minutes afterwards I will feel a hush crash. Not sure if that is due to the higher dose and its just the double edge sword of having such a burst of energy, but it would be my one negative.

    When I take pre workout I often times feel tingling or even like I’m having some sort of cardiac episode. Not with Ruck Science. It is almost a focusing and calming supplement that centers me and let’s me relax and play the game.

    The taste is very good, but what’s most notable is the effect it’s had on my body before training and workouts. It doesn’t give me the intense jitter and “buzz” that other pre-workouts have, but definitely leaves me feeling energized!

    “Taste is actually great. I mix it in slightly less water than it recommends which makes it a bit more concentrated and sweeter, but sweet isn’t your thing you can just use more water. Dissolves clean, and rinses clean when you’re done.

    The instructions caution you to use a half dose your first time. I am a big fella, and I don’t even notice advil if I don’t take six, so I ignored that and took the whole dose. Do not do this thing. They warn you for a reason. After a time or two, I don’t know if my body adjusted or what, but now everything is fine. However, speaking as someone who always has to take more than the average person to affect my giant self, just go slow the first time or two.”

    This pre-workout packs a punch! I will typically use a full serving prior to strength training and love the incredible pump and stamina it gives me in the gym. If I am doing any high intensity training or cardio/fitness work I will cut the serving in half. I found that the stimulant would literally pound my heart through my chest if I consumed any more than that. This product is has the versatility to supplement both in-season and out-of-season, depending on your performance needs. Mixes well, priced right, tastes as good as anything on the market, and the kicker for me is the 10% back to my club!

    I’ve been through the gamut as far as preworkouts. All the big names have at one time or another given me the jitters and the… BM’s of the century. This one was a nice compromise of just intense enough to keep me going, and not so intense that I thought I was going to launch into the next zip code. And for the price, you can’t beat it unlike the big names.

    I’ve tried just about every pre-workout on the market, and I was pleasantly surprised with this one. It is far cheaper than a lot of the more potent ones you can find, but I was very happy with how this one made me feel, both during and after my gym sessions. Combine that with the fact that my club gets some of the money from my purchase, I think this will be my new go-to preworkout.

    Just like the title says, this is the best stuff out there. I have had such great energy and results when I have taken this product. The instructions are right on the container telling you how much to use and how much water to use, which is extremely helpful. Also the flavor is great, goes down really smooth and flavorful. Taking the scoop 30 min before has been what works for me, you can really feel when it is working cause it gives you a great energy boost. During the work out I can tell a huge difference when I take it. I lift harder and don’t get fatigued as fast. Its truly an amazing product and I would recommend this to anyone! I love this product and will definitely keep using it.

    I read the instructions and description of this product before taking it from the Sample Stack I ordered. I usually drink the same amount of caffeine that is in Twitch Faster, so I was wondering what kind of affect the product would have on me. I took a half scoop before a match (I skipped the morning coffee that day) and Twitch Faster gave me the boost I needed for the match. I was able to better focus on other aspects of the game instead of monitoring how tired I was getting. It’s a fantastic product that didn’t leave me feeling sick or left me lethargic after it wore off. I didn’t feel a spike in energy followed by a hard crash; rather, it was a smooth and constant level of energy that kept me feeling good on the pitch. I’m about to get the full-sized product right now.

    I have a caffeine sensitivity. I got this as part of the sampler stacker. The product DOES work though, and they do warn you against using it if you have a caffeine sensitivity. I was able to take half doses and still be able to function, yet be pumped enough to work out without negative reactions. If I wasn’t sensitive to caffeine I would love this product.

    So let me reiterate to those with a caffeine sensitivity issue: use at your own risk.

    I ordered the sampler stack and have loved the products. I use this one the first time the other day before a workout session. I was really dragging and dreading hitting the gym. This really picked me up and gave me the boost I needed to get through the workout. It tastes great and smooth as well. A lot of preworkout supplements I’ve used were really hard and tangy/sugary–this is not.

    “I’ve spent the last 4 years or so bouncing around from preworkout to preworkout trying to find something that wouldn’t leave me feeling sick during matches or particularly intense training sessions. I recently stumbled upon Twitch Faster and decided to give it a try. I’ve played around with both a half scoop (5g) and a full scoop (10g) for various things and this is what I found:

    At 5’10″” and 210lbs, the half scoop was more than enough for almost all training sessions in the gym. I did like the full scoop for particularly hard leg days. All cardio and field sessions were done with the half scoop with no ill effects. I personally never noticed much of a crash either way and didn’t feel jittery as I have with some preworkouts. It was a nice smooth ride of energy from beginning to end. I can’t recommend this product more to those looking for something built specifically for rugby players. “

    I work out in the morning so this has replaced that morning cup of coffee I usually drank. It gives me the needed energy to push through a hard workout without needing to eat a heavy breakfast. It tastes like kool-aid which is awesome, but I do with they would get rid of the food coloring since it adds nothing to it’s usefulness.
