With summer coming to an end the training for 15s begins. Whether it is for on-field recovery or post-gym every rugger needs supplements to fuel their body. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that we have signed Chicago Women’s RFC to our sponsorship program! The sponsorship begins immediately. We look forward to seeing the women from the Windy City compete at the highest levels.
The Chicago Women’s Rugby Football Club was founded in 1976. Rumor is that the team was formed to one-up their other halves in playing rugby. While the rumor has never been confirmed we at Ruck Science can believe that; they are a scrappy group of women!
Since then CWRFC has competed in at the highest level of club rugby consistently qualifying for nationals and promoting the sport on the highest levels. Today the team is coached by Leanne Baker and Desiree Emery. Leanne is a former professional tennis player from New Zealand while Desiree is a former England international have capped in both union and our league. Chicago Women’s side is a force to be reckoned with!
Thinking of playing rugby? The women hold training every Mondays and Wednesday at Humboldt Park beginning at 7pm.
