It’s a happy day! Ruck Science is pleased to announce that as of Monday, July 25th 2016 we finally have our first women’s rugby club signed up for our sponsorship program. You’re right, it did take far too long. But we’re hoping this leads to plenty more of them. The new partnership between the Tulane Women’s Rugby Club and Ruck Science is an exciting milestone for us and something we’re very proud of.
After Katrina, Tulane Women’s Rugby FC was dissolved. In the spring of 2014, TUWRFC was re-established by Kate Gillespie. For the first two years, TUWRFC played friendly matches and tried to retain players and grow women’s rugby in New Orleans. In 2016 TUWRFC joined the Southern Independent Rugby Conference (SIRC). In our inaugural competitive season, we won our matrix and advanced to the SIRC championships.
They lost in the championships, but were granted an at large bid to nationals. We won the Sweet 16 and elite 8 rounds in Atlanta, advancing to Davis, California for the final four and national championships. We went on to win the Division II Spring National Championship. We look forward to continued growth of Tulane University Women’s Rugby FC.
Whenever a customer completes the checkout process on staging-rucksciencecom.kinsta.cloud, they’re asked to enter the name of the rugby club that they play for. We do this so that we know where to send monthly donations on behalf of the customer. For every order, we donate up to 20% of the value of the order to the rugby club of the customer’s choice. For Tulane Women’s Rugby club players, supporters and alumni, please be sure to enter the coupon code TULANEWRFC during the checkout process so we know to send your donation to the right place.
If you’re located in the New Orleans area and looking for a women’s rugby club, the Tulane Women’s rugby club is always looking for new members no matter what your experience.
