As of today, we are happy to be supporting a brand new rugby club in Texas! Their name is the Arrows Rugby Football Club and even though they’re yet to play a game, their inaugural season will be here before you know it. Arrows RFC has officially signed to receive donations as part of our sponsorship program. Their first donation will be made in October and we’re looking forward to a mutually beneficial long-term partnership with the club.
Arrows Rugby Football Club is Houston’s first Catholic Men’s Rugby Club. Their inaugural season began on August 30th of this year with the club’s first strength and conditioning session in Houston. If you’re interested in playing rugby for the Arrows, don’t let the fact that they’re a Catholic team scare you off. As they say on their website:
“Our club is open to players of all faiths but we are focused on not only playing rugby but growing in our faith along the way. This is team will foster a family friendly rugby environment so that people from all ages can learn more and enjoy the sport of rugby.”
There’s still plenty of time before the season starts to get involved in the Arrows club as a player, coach, administrator or supporter. Visit their brand new (very clean!) website for more on this. The site was produced by local developer Elise Greff who you can find here on Instagram.
Like many clubs in Texas, the Arrows RFC will be training and playing at separate venues during the 2016/17 rugby season. They practice every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:30pm – 8:30pm starting August 30, 2016 at 607 E. Whitney St. Houston, TX 77022.
Thanks to their field sponsor, the Western Academy, the Arrows are hoping their game-day facility will offer the most unique game day venue in Houston Rugby. The fields are located at Western Academy is 1511 Butlercrest St. Houston, Texas 77080.
For more information, check out the facilities into on the club’s website.

If you want to take it a step further, you or your business can also become a sponsor of the Arrows RFC. They’re currently seeking a hospitality sponsor for post-game functions and events so this would be a great opportunity for a local bar or restaurant to get in on the ground for with a new rugby club. As a 501-C-3 Non Profit Organization, all donations given to the Arrows RFC are tax deductible. If you or your company would like to sponsor Arrows RFC please see the sponsor options and benefits on the sponsorship page of their website.
